The Argentine Security Institute, a Non-profit Civil and Cultural Association of the common good with Legal Personality, was founded on April 5, 1940.
It is the first institution of its kind in the Argentine Republic and one of the first at the international level with specific dedication, for the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases, in any type of activity in which the human factor participates circumstantially or permanently.
It promotes, organizes and provides technical and educational services on Safety, Hygiene, Occupational Medicine, Environmental Protection and Accident Prevention in Industry, Home, Traffic and Sport. It publishes books, brochures, magazines, posters, posters and other types of printed matter for the fulfillment of its purposes, highlighting the Security Magazine, whose publication dates from 1942. It collaborates in the organization of the Occupational Safety, Health and Medicine Services of the most important State and Private Companies in the Country and participates in the initiatives or activities of other Entities that have objectives aimed at the same purposes. It maintains permanent contact and bibliographic exchange with Organizations in Latin America, the United States, Europe, the International Labor Office – O. I. T., the International Social Security Association – A. I. S. S. and the World Health Organization – PAHO and has an Online Thematic Library and a Computerized Data Bank on Legal and Technical aspects.
